Reflection/NoviandariLina/Mid 3

Who am I as a learner?

According to Georgi lezanov theory in his book (quantum learning), there are three kinds of learning styles, they are visual, auditory and kinesthetic styles. He said that each learning style has its own characteristic. Learners with visual learning styles should see the body language and facial expression of the teacher to understand the lesson material. This was quite different from the other two types. Learners who have auditory learning styles can learn more quickly by using verbal discussion and listen to what teachers say while learners who have a kinesthetic learning styles learn through moving, touching, and doing.

Based on the theory, I classified as a visual learner. Why do I say that? Because I felt during my study, I always use the visual learning style as mentioned in that theory. I usually use visual materials as pictures, diagrams or maps for my study. I can memorize more quickly by visual than by listening the material. I think that use or create pictures can help my brain storming than I just write it down.

There are many characteristics of each learning style. Visual learners usually speak quickly, memorize what they see than what they listen. They also quick reader and they prefer demonstration to oration. Auditory characteristic are they speak loudly and they like listening. They dislike the amusing sound because it can disturb them. Kinesthetic characteristic are speak slowly, they like playing and other activities.

Although Georgi lezanov said that each person has their own learning style but I think that each person has that three learning styles in his/her characteristic. It happens in me because I feel that I am a visual and kinesthetic learner. Over all, this theory is very useful for either teacher or students because it can help them to find their good learning method.
